Camp Schedule (more detailed schedule to come)

  • Thursday, January 26th: All participants to arrive in Truckee
  • Friday, January 27th: Alpine skiing with Achieve Tahoe
  • Saturday, January 28th: Nordic skiing with U.S. Para Nordic

*All participants must depart on January 28th. If you chose to extend your personal time in Tahoe / Truckee, CAF will only provide lodging, transportation, and food from January 26th - January 28th

Ski Considerations

  • All participants must be a minimum one-year post injury or major surgery
  • For seated participants in alpine skiing - there is a weight limit of 185LB for bi-skiers and 220LB limit for mono-skiers. The type of ski you will use is based on disability, upper body / trunk strength. A bi-ski is designed for seated participants that need additional support where a mono-ski will offer more independence. No experience necessary for either
  • All ambulatory skiers will rent standard equipment the day of check-in on January 26th

Lodging, Transporation, and Family

  • CAF will NOT be providing transportation to / from the camp. All participants must arrive to the host hotel, the Hampton Inn & Suites Tahoe / Truckee, by Thursday, January 26th (unless local). We will be offering shuttle services throughout the weekend
  • ADA rooms are limited so we ask that you indicate in the registration if an ADA room is necessary
  • Youth participants may have one or two parents / guardians / caregiver present, but we ask that siblings do not attend please
  • Adult participants may bring one caregiver and/or spouse if absolutely necessary
  • If family members or caregivers wish to ski, they will be responsible for cost of equipment rental and cost of lift tickets

What to bring

All participants must bring winter ski clothes including boots, jackets, ski pants, gloves, and warm layers. We will provide the ski equipment. We recommend you bring all waterproof attire in the case of poor weather. Please organize and check the condition of your winter apparel before attending the camp so you are prepared for any weather conditions
