2022 CAF San Diego Adaptive Track & Field Clinic - Volunteer

Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is conducting a track & field preseason clinic for middle school and high school students with permanent physical disabilities. Athletes will learn equipment, skills, and techniques to prepare them for their own school season.

Volunteer role options are below:

  • Hands-On Athlete Assistant & General Volunteer: Includes hands-on athlete support, such as transferring, equipment fitting, etc. AND general roles, such as set-up & break-down of venue and supporting all coaches as needed in wheelchair racing, ambulatory sprints, and seated / ambulatory shot put
  • General Volunteer: Includes jobs such as set-up & break-down of venue and supporting all coaches as needed in wheelchair racing, ambulatory sprints, and seated / ambulatory shot put, no hands-on assistance required
  • Family/Caregiver/Guest - Athlete Support: Only for athletes who require hands-on assistance and prefer to have a family member / caregiver / guest provide that support (only required to be present for the time that the athlete is attending practice)

Volunteers may choose to volunteer for the whole clinic (7:00AM – 12:00PM) or volunteer for a session (7:00AM – 9:30AM OR 9:30AM – 12:00PM).

COVID Protocols: As required by SDSU, all visitors on campus must be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours of being on campus. Please be prepared to email proof of vaccination to highschoolsports@challengedathletes.org or show proof of vaccination / a negative test upon arrival. This is required for all athletes, volunteers, coaches, staff, family members, and spectators at this clinic.

As required by SDSU, masks are to be worn by all athletes, volunteers, coaches, staff, family members, and spectators except for when eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. Athletes are not required to wear a mask when participating in physical activities. Social distancing is encouraged when possible. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
