Join the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), loyal Basementeers, and the local Bay Area community at Sports Basement in the Presidio on Sunday, September 26th to ride, practice yoga, and learn more about how to get involved with CAF and adaptive sports! Join for one or both activities, or simply to meet local challenged athletes and community members passionate about CAF’s mission to support individuals with physical disabilities in their pursuit of sports and fitness.
This event will honor Sports Basement's late CFO Tom Trauger, who died while riding a century in Nevada with 20 friends when a truck struck and killed 5 cyclists and injured 3 others.
Please Note: We will be requiring proof of vaccination status at this event. All attendees are to remain masked when not eating and drinking at the event. Please plan to bring a photo of your vaccine card along with a picture ID to the event
8-8:30am: Arrival
9:00am: Ride Remarks Roll-Out
10:30-11am: Yoga Arrivals + Refreshments + Ride Finish
11:00am: Challenged Athlete Speaker + Primary Remarks
11:15am: Yoga Session
12:00pm: Refreshments + Finish
Roll with the CAF Cycling Club and Sports Basement for a no-drop 20 mile ride facilitated by knowledgeable ride leaders. You’ll be greeted upon your return with coffee, pastries, and inspiring messages from CAF athletes.
Hydration and nutrition will be available (and of course, Sports Basement will be open for all your cycling needs!)
Experience a vinyasa yoga session designed for all abilities, led by instructor Erika Chau. Arrive early to enjoy coffee, pastries, and motivation from local CAF athlete speakers.
