Registration
Participate in the four and half hour ride as an individual or share the bike as part of a three person relay team and ride for 90 minutes each. A non-refundable $100 deposit is due at the time of registration for all participants. The balance must be donated or fundraised by October 10, 2016.

  • Yellow Jersey: Participate as an individual for the full four and a half hours (9:00am-1:30pm) and fundraise a minimum of $500.
  • Polka Dot Jersey Relay Team: Create a 3 person relay team or join an existing relay team and share a bike for four and a half hours. Each relay team member will select a different 90-minute cycling session (9:00am-10:30am, 10:30am-12:00pm or 12:00pm-1:30pm). Each team member must fundraise a minimum of $300 each for a combined $900/team.
  • Champion Challenge: Yellow Jersey and Polka Dot Jersey team riders can strive to be a Champion Rider by fundraising $2,000 or more. Receive extra parks including a custom CAF cycling kit, valet parking, access to SDTC VIP tent and massage, special refreshments and a reserved spot in the front row of TDC with priority access to a Krankcycle®.

Register as an Individual (Yellow Jersey) - Raise a minimum of $500 and spin for four and half hours from 9:00am-1:30pm. Receive a reserved bike, personal instruction on a Krankcycle®, and one ticket to CAF's Celebration of Abilities Dinner. You'll also receive a goodie bag with a custom Tour de Cove cycling jersey, CAF sweatshirt, event t-shirt, visor, water bottle and more.

Register as a Relay Team (Polka Dot Team Jersey) - Recruit a team of three riders to share a bike for four and half hours and raise a combined minimum of $900. Each relay member will select a 90-minute spin session (9:00am-10:30am, 10:30am-12:00pm or 12:00pm-1:30pm) and will receive a goodie bag bag with a custom Tour de Cove cycling jersey, CAF sweatshirt, event t-shirt, visor, water bottle and more.

Fundraising
As a Tour de Cove participant you are a part of the team who makes dreams come true for challenged athletes. Our goal is to raise $90,000 at the 2016 Tour de Cove.  CAF makes fundraising easy by providing you an online fundraising webpage, fundraising kit, motivational emails and support from the CAF Staff.


You can earn great incentive prizes by raising funds for CAF. This year's incentive prize list includes iPods, heart rate monitors, wetsuits, cycling gear and much more!

Perk Deadlines
Raise $1,000 by October 16, 2016 and earn a custom CAF jacket.
Raise $2,000 by October 16, 2016 and achieve Champion Level status.

2016 Tour de Cove
FUNDRAISING RULES

1. A $100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required to register as an individual or a relay team member. You must provide your credit card information as a guarantee. The full entry fee of $500/individual or $300/relay team member ($900/relay team) is due by October 14, 2016.

2. Raise $1,000 by October 16, 2016 and receive a custom CAF jacket prize.

3. Raise $2,000 by October 16, 2016 and achieve Champion Rider status.

4. Please mail your fundraising donations (checks/offline credit card donations) to the Deni + Jeff Jacobs Challenged Athletes Center as you receive them. Please make checks payable to the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Be sure to clearly mark your name on the donations/checks you send in and we will track your progress.

5. Donated product does not count towards your fundraising goal unless the CAF was going to purchase that product anyway. Fundraising credit would be for the price CAF was going to pay. Prior approval must be received from the CAF Executive Director.

6. If you want to sell sponsorship for the SDTC as part of your fundraising strategy, you must notify the CAF Executive Director, Virginia Tinley. She can provide you with Sponsorship packages, which you can present to potential sponsors. She will also let you know if another participant is pursuing the same company. The first person to bring in the sponsor will receive fundraising credit.

7. You may pursue grant-writing on behalf of CAF. You must send in the complete written proposal to Nancy Reynolds, CAF's Director of Development for approval and signature. We reserve the right to deny submission if it is not written according to CAF's guidelines. Contact nancy@challengedathletes.org or 858-210-3516.

8. All corporate matching funds must be in our office no later than Dec 1, 2016. We will accept a written letter from your company stating the exact amount that will be distributed and the date it will be sent. All checks must be in to the CAF office no later than Dec 1, 2016 in order to count for your 2016 fundraising.

INCENTIVE PRIZE RULES

1. To qualify for fundraising prizes you must participate in Tour de Cove.

2. All fundraising dollars must be in by 5:00 pm. Pacific Time on Dec 1, 2016 in order to be eligible for fundraising prizes.

3. Fundraising dollars towards prizes are over and above your entry fee.

4. You can only choose one incentive prize. Prizes are not cumulative.

5. If your incentive prize is valued $600 or greater, you will be required to fill out IRS Form W-9 before receiving your gift.

6. Winners may substitute a prize from a lower level.

7. Relay teams can combine their fundraising dollars to get one joint prize, or they may fundraise individually (the only prize exempt from relay team members is the Ironman spot).

8. CAF reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
