Hi everyone,
For the fifth year, I'm racing Ironman 70.3 Oceanside with Team Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). Since 2016, we've raised over $35,000 for CAF's program for challenged veterans, Operation Rebound. Your generosity has been inspiring and I hope you also feel some of the inspiration the team gives me when I see challenged vets doing things that are hard for even the most able-bodied athletes. Think about swimming 1.2 miles in the Pacific Ocean when you're blind. Think about just getting from that swim to your bike when you don't have legs. Or, think about how you'd run 13.1 miles on prosthetic knees and legs. (hint: Roderick in upper right picture looks like a Chinook helicoptor's two rotors skimming down the road). I see all these things because you and CAF help these amazing people overcome their challenges by giving them relatively small assists, which when combined with the power of sports to enrich lives, yields huge positive impacts.
Please join me in supporting Team CAF Operation Rebound on April 4. Any size donation makes a difference. If you can join me at the race, I guarantee you'll be amazed and inspired too.
Phil
