Hi, my name is Kevin Keegan and I am once again asking you to join me in my efforts to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation as I participate in my second Million dollar Challenge this October 13th-20th.
The Million Dollar Challenge is a 7 day, 620 mile cycling event down HWY 1 to help raise funds and awareness for Challenged Athletes. The ride starts at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and ends in San Diego.
Last year’s event saw 130 riders participate, of which 27 were adaptive athletes. Together we raised over $1.8 million for Challenged Athletes. The ride down the coast was one of the most physically demanding, yet rewarding experiences of my life. I was witness to what this very special community of like-minded individuals can accomplish and it is an honor to be part of an organization that brings so much to so many.
The money we raise will help people with physical challenges pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and athletics. CAF’s mission is clear: give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love.
I never truly realized the profound impact sports could have on an individual with physical limitations until I myself was faced with those same challenges. The price of prosthetics can be overwhelming and insurance companies will only cover the bare minimum of what is required to function, let alone be active. I cannot begin to express my thanks for the CAF grant that allowed me to resume cycling and now it’s time for me to help pay it forward.
By making a tax deductible donation towards my fundraising goal you will provide individuals, with physical challenges, the tools necessary to find success in sports — and in life!
Thank you in advance for your support.
