Join me in my efforts to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation's (CAF) Operation Rebound Program.
By making a donation towards my fundraising goal you will help provide permanently injured military and first responders with the tools necessary to find success in sports — and in life!
Ironman 70.3 Oceanside is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, followed by a 13.1 run to the finish line. I chose this race in honor of Jayce Parker's memory. Jayce was a highly ambitious person with a competitive spirit.
For his birthday and anniversary, I'm challenging myself to do something I think he would've done given the chance. I knew the mental and physical commitment would be challenging, but I know my guardian angel will be with me. I went back and forth about registering, but the deciding factor came when I learned that a portion of the race goes through Camp Pendleton which is a base where he lived when he was younger. I felt like I had received a message from heaven to take the leap!
The Marines and sports were integral in Jayce's life, and so I knew Operation Rebound was the right foundation to support.
CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports.
Through Operation Rebound specific grant requests and sport clinics, CAF is there to support our service members from Frontline to Finish line.
Thank you for your support.
