Join me in my efforts to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation's (CAF) Operation Rebound Program as I race at Oceanside Ironman 70.3 in April 2023!
CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports.
Through Operation Rebound specific grant requests and sport clinics, CAF is there to support our service members from Frontline to Finish line.
CAF has a tremendous positive presence in the San Diego youth community. I had the great opportunity to volunteer at the Youth ParaTriathlon Camp in 2018, which is a one week camp designed to help young challenged athletes learn the various skills needed to participate in a triathlon.
Volunteering at CAF teen triathlon workshops on Fiesta Island is the best. To see the joy on the athletes’ faces. To witness their independence and determination. Can you imagine running when blind? Amazing! We were only at the workshop to shadow the athletes and keep them safe from car drivers. The athletes don’t need or want help. I learned to see them as determined and gifted athletes, not as being disabled.
By making a donation towards my fundraising goal you will help provide permanently injured men and women with the tools necessary to find success in sports — and in life!
Thank you for your support.
