Hello, I'd like to invite you to join me in my efforts to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation's  (CAF) Operation Rebound Program.

CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports.

Through Operation Rebound specific grant requests and sport clinics, CAF is there to support our service members from Frontline to Finish line.

CAF's Operation Rebound was introduced to me almost 16 years ago when I first became an amputee.  While I had been an experienced able bodied triathlete prior to my injury, I didn't know what that would look like with a prosthetic running blade.  I had so many questions.  Did I need a cycling specific leg?  Did I need other modifications or adaptations?  Would I swim in a circle with one leg? 

CAF answered all my questions, but more than that, they introduced me to people just like me.  Specifically, I met service members with limb loss, visual impairments, and mobility challenges.  More than any special piece of equipment, the connection with this community gave me the mental boost I needed to continue chasing big dreams. 

They also taught me that everyone of us can do SOMETHING to help another person.
