I first became involved with the Challenged Athletes Foundation when I was a freshman in high school back in 2008. My water polo coach, Tom Atwell, had our team volunteer at the San Diego Triathlon Challenge at La Jolla Cove by helping the athletes up & down the stairs for the swim. Since then, for the last 14 years my mom has worked there and I have been involved with many of their events. It is truly amazing to see what these athletes can accomplish and how the gift of sport can change lives. I want to combine my goal of completing a half Ironman with giving back to an organization that has given me so much.
CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports.
By making a donation towards my fundraising goal you will help provide permanently injured military and first responders with the tools necessary to find success in sports — and in life!
Thank you for your support.
